Atmosferas
Atelier Peninsular
11 to 26 march
Inserted on the open lawn of the gardens of Palácio Pimenta, this installation establishes a dialogue with the existing glass greenhouse. Of similar dimensions and geometry, it corresponds to the greenhouse’s opposite; its exposed, visible structure supports an open surface, seemingly functionless. Even temporarily, the function of this surface allows us to recognise a historical situation: the impossibility of escape from our terrestrial existence, lived out in this fine layer between crust and troposphere. The Earth that is close to us, both in time and in space, is that which today we feel and inhabit.
Atelier Peninsular develops a shared practice in the disciplines of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, seeing each project as a space of possibilities open to collaboration, experimentation and research into new areas of knowledge. It was founded in 2017 by Emanuel Diogo, Hugo Guiomar and Stefano Serventi.
Three Fires of Akapura
Mestre André and André Hencleeday
18 march
7pm
This project was born from the shared points of contact in the thoughts and spiritual practices of André Hencleeday and Mestre André in relation to music and life. The goal is the creation of a durational musical concert-installation piece that immobilises time, and slows down space. A piece guided by cosmic magnitudes yet manifested in the world of the senses. Out of two series of numbers: cosmic proportions and resonances of inhabited physical space, will emerge the basis for refining two musical instruments: viola and electronics.
Note: This event is durational and the audience can enter, leave and move around during the performance.

Silêncio que vão cantar os pássaros
Nils Miesel and Rodrigo Pedreira
25 march
8pm
What is life like for the animals that live in trees, on the ground and under the surface of a garden? Is there silence? Do we hear other kinds of songs? Who sings louder, the birds or the cars?
We decided to listen to and watch the garden, its inhabitants and its surroundings.
Through the contrast between green and grey, we travel through a sound and visual landscape that explores our condition in the face of nature: we are internal and not external.
Note:
This is an intense sensorial experience using strobe lighting.
This event is durational and the audience can enter, leave and move around during the performance.
