More conscious ways of thinking about the future and our way of relating with the world should be integrated from an early age, as well as being practised in our daily lives. Acting as a continuation of the project “From the Sky to the Table”, the Upfarming team presents the project “From School to the Table”. Taking place at Dom Luís da Cunha Primary School in the neighbourhood of Alvalade, a holistic growing system has been developed consisting of a vertical farm, a horizontal farm, a ring-shaped agroforest and a composting station.

The project seeks to make the most of the pedagogical potential of this model, sparking children’s interest in biodiversity, sustainable food and eating, and responsible habits. It thus promotes the conservation of the environment, and the social, physical and mental well-being of the school community as it produces the active citizens of tomorrow.
