Eastern Riverside Park

Bringing the green to the Tagus river

Open on days:

Rua Cintura do Porto

Although it is recent and not impactful yet, it provides us with a strong message: a recently planted garden is a dream about the future — where, in this case, we will be able to stroll under the shade of the stone pines, European ashes, or cork oaks that are planted there.

The Eastern Riverside Park added 4 new acres of green to the urban grid as part of the ongoing restructuring of the eastern part of Lisbon. It is a future goal to extend this for over a mile to Parque das Nações (Expo Park in 1998).

The river gives this place its essence and sense of unity. This place was a port in the past, a fact that has been preserved here, and now it offers a cosmopolitan future. The park promotes a fruitful relationship between the river, the city, and Lisboners.
