When Serra de Monsanto was replanted with trees over a century ago, the resulting forest contained buçaco cedars, cork oaks, and holm oaks. In the shade of these trees, a profusion of wild herbaceous plants also grew, some of them edible, just waiting to be discovered.

This workshop at the Monsanto Visitor Centre (CIM) will help you recognise some of these species, their properties and a few surprises…
