It’s hard to believe that around 100 years ago the Serra de Monsanto was almost entirely bare. Since its reforestation began in the 1930s, Monsanto Forest Park has grown to cover around 900 hectares of land. The Biodiversity Space is a fenced-off area with distinct paths through a landscape that mimics the natural ecosystem.

This is a guided walk exploring the importance of conserving the natural world, increasing biodiversity and ensuring the evolutionary and adaptational processes inherent to ecological sustainability.
